Introduction
"Only in darkness can you see the stars" -Martin Luther King Jr.
This is a quote I've lived by since I was a little girl. My name is Caroline Stepter. I am a growing photographer, with a dream to show everyone the beauty in everything we see or touch.
I am a very camera shy person, and I've always been afraid of other people taking a picture of me; however, being the person behind the camera, making others' smiles shine through, or helping others photograph their precious memories is amazing to me. To be the person who was able to create a photo that will be passed down through generations so that person is never forgotten has always been a dream of mine.
The main theme I use when taking photos is "The Beauty in Darkness." Many people find this theme to be rather depressing and sad. I see it as a story driven theme. I try to put more depth within my photography to create a broader meaning to my work. I love working with nature and children the most when it comes to my pictures. It is truly a passion of mine.
The same can be said of my poems. They have a dark theme but there is a broader story that is being told. If people looked at all of my work at once, My work is all connected in a way that is hard for some to understand. It can all be combined into a story.
